About Lorine

Lorine is the creator and owner of Olive Tree Genealogy website  which she established in 1996. She is also the creator of several other websites, all bringing free genealogical content online for genealogists and historians.

She lives on a 100 acre hobby farm with her husband and two small rescue dogs. Over the past 15 years Lorine and her husband have rescued and cared for various animals, including donkeys, sheep, geese, rabbits, turkeys, dogs, ducks, chickens, guinea fowl and pot-belly pigs.

Lorine has an Honors B.A. in Psychology and a B.Ed. She is a Behaviour Specialist and for over 20 years Lorine worked with teenage boys who could not be in regular schools because of behavior issues. Before that she was a child care worker working with younger children with emotional disturbances, autism, developmental delays and cerebral palsy.

Now she spends her days working on her genealogy websites and blogs and writing her New Netherland Settlers series and her mystery novels. From time to time she surfaces long enough to cook Christmas, Thanksgiving and other special occasion dinners for her grown family of three children, a step-daughter, two step-grandchildren, and ten grandchildren.
